PSU choices

Hi all,

I've been warned away from the Diablo Tek PSU I was considering buying. So I figured I'd ask after my newest choices.
First off I'll be running an AMD Phenom II X4 965 on an MSI 970A-G46 AMD Series 9 Mobo, 2X 2GB ram and an ATI Radeon HD 4650. I'm on a bit of a budget so I was wondering if either Kingwin ABT-650MM Maximum Series ATX Power Supply or Coolmax ZX-600 600W Power Supply - 600W, ATX, 80 Plus would be a good enough PSU for my needs. If not can you recommend something $60 or under that would be suitable. Also what is the min +12v rating I should look for? Thank you.

Definitely NO on the Coolmax, it's as bad as Diablo tek. I haven't found
a review yet on the KIngwin, but it is a much safer bet than the
other two. The OEM on the KIngwin is Superflower which currewntly
doesn't get involved in low end goods, only good quality stuff.

My only concern is that it might be an older design, as it's +12v amps
of 46(552w) is low for a modern 650w unit, but still plenty for any
sys with a single gpu and most sys with dual gpu's, but I'd go with it.

What are your needs ?
Your system only needs a 430-450 watt psu

The Kingwin has plenty of +12v amps and to spare for your build, I was
only expressing that some (not all good units) would have a slightly
higher percent of the total output on the +12v, but that would mean
50-52amps and you have 46amps, you could run 2 4650's with the
Kingwin if you needed to, so you have plenty of power for your build.

The board has an 8 pin PC power connector does that affect what I have to look for in a psu? Is that an EPS connector or a P4 type?

Hi again - the Kingwin has 2 4pin power connectors should
you need to use all 8 (check your mobo manual)

I just read someone complaining about how short the cables on the kingwin are. Since I am getting a bottom mount Case should I be worried about that? If so would this be a better purchase OEM 700W Power Supply - ATX, 115/230V or should I stick with the kingwin

I doubt that you'll have that issue, even if you had a top mounted unit, but being on the bottom
makes it even less likely. I wouldn't buy an oem 700w unit, you need only 450-500w
as it is.
