Instance strangeness

Last night I had a few odd things happen, all related to instances. Has
anyone else heard of similar things?

First, I was in a guild raid on Onyxia. (Nothing odd happened here, but
it was an instance event, so I mention it just in case it's relevant
somehow.)

As the raid was breaking up and everyone hearthed back to Ironforge, the
topic of guild discussion turned to our next planned raid on Molten Core.
I typed /raidinfo just to see what it said, and was informed that I was
bound to an instance of MC that had 2 days left on its timer. Many
guildies reported the same, and the same ID, having been on an MC raid 4
days ago.

However, I was not on that raid. It has been well over ten days since I
set foot inside MC. Why am I bound to an MC instance?

Lastly, I helped a rogue guildie with some BRD stealth runs to get a Barman
Shanker. After four runs or so, taking 10-12 minutes each, I started
getting the error that I have entered too many instances. The other two
people in the group did not get this error, so they went on without me.

Any ideas what was happening?

Check out the forums; the first problem is well documented and has no
solution for the moment.

Blizzard "knows" about the problem but doesn't have a viable solution
yet, last I heard.

The second is the new "no more than 5 instances in 1 hour" (I think it's
5) designed to "reduce instance instability" and also, wahtever they
say, to reduce some specific farming and exploits

You can't do more than 5 instances in an hour, period.

Why didn't the other two people in the group get the error, then? They
had done a few Shanker runs before I joined, so theoretically they should
have gotten the error before I did...

You'd just been to Onyxia which is one instance so you couldn't do more
than 4 more in the hour.

They could have been averaging 5 an hour so that the ones that they
were on whilst you were in Onyxia didn't count. If they'd finished the
run, that they did before you joined, them a few minutes before you
finished Onyxia then you could have tried to enter the 6th instance
after 59 minutes whereas they may have tried to enter the 6th instance
60 minutes after the first. I just played with the numbers and if you
were doing them at 12 minutes each then you would (should) have got
into that one at minute 61. If you did just two of them 1 minute
faster then you'd have entered the last one at minute 59 and failed.

You may have found that waiting a couple of minutes would have let you
in (or you may have tried this and I may be wrong :p )
