Best way to expand Range?

Hi guys,

I'm currently training a group of adults to take A+ soon. I had a question from one of the delegates on the best way to expand the range of a wireless n connection from a router to the rest of the house, WITHOUT using a second WAP.

Any ideas guys?

You can place the wireless router in the center of the house or closest to your wireless clients to see if that helps with range and quality signal, you should avoid anything that can cause interference like a microwave, concrete walls, etc., you can also turn a wireless access point into a repeater, buy a repeater or replace your old antennas with better ones. However, you're going to have to do some research on this to figure out what the best solution is for you. Also, try to avoid using the same channel as your neighbors and if you have no choice use the channel with the least amount of people if want the best possible signal. The best channels are 1, 6, and 11.

However, a tutor should already know all of this.

you can consider change the oringinal antenna with a high power one .this can effectively borden the emitting range or just buy a wifi repeater which will receive the signal around and reboradcast locally
