Radeon 6670 in Dell XPS 420?

I have a Dell XPS420 and I'm pretty sure the GPU has died, so am looking to replace it. It's a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 4GB RAM and an 8800GT. I've replaced the PSU with a 450W Antec as I initially thought the PSU was faulty, and am not sure what the mobo is. So I'm wondering if anyone can help me with using aftermarket GPUs in Dells (compatability, whether it'll fit in the case etc). I'm currently thinking about a Radeon HD 6670 (don't need the computer to be super powerful it's being fixed for someone else)

it will work but you can step up to more powerful cards like the AMD 7770

I'm just looking for a cheap replacement, I've got a new computer so am just fixing this as a spare so it won't be used for gaming or anything intensive. I just picked the GPU off the recommended section, would you recommend any other cheap compatible cards?

I don't see why it won't work. I've got an XPS 420 too. Albeit with a Radeon HD 2400 Pro. I thought of upgrading the graphics card, but that idea blossomed into the rig I'm building right now.
  3. If you're not gaming, then just get a display card. Nothing fancy. You could get a 6450, and that would be nice for a display.

If you plan to game, the 6670 is a solid choice.
  4. hey try to find the hd 6450 or hd 7450 (oem)
