How do you find the info on your motherboard etc. to determine what ethernet drivers are needed

You will need the motherboard manufacturer and model number. Then go the to manufacturer's website to download drivers.

In Control Panel>System>{Hardware if XP}>Device Manager, scroll to the Network Adapter, highlight it, right click it and click on Properties.

Click the Details tab and note the four characters which follow VEN for Vendor and the four after DEV for Device. Take that information to http://www.pcidatabase.com and input it in the appropriate boxes. You should then be led to the manufacturer with possibly a link to the correct driver.
