This is my system as it stands now

My PSU is a crappy 500W generic. I'm going to upgrade my PSU and my video card from the 9800gt to probably an HD 7870.

My question is, what are people's thoughts/suggestions for my choices?

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095

Good/bad choices? Any other recommendations? Any reason I should/shouldn't get these 2 components?

I looked at the Nvidia ones too (like the 660) but leaned more towards the 7870 after reading a lot of reviews and stuff. The PSU I liked for the 80plus bronze rating and the fact that it's modular.

Thanks for any help =)

Hi - Both good choices. Go with them.

Do you think that power supplies better, about the same, or what? Or just cheaper for a similar PSU? I've got a $50 gift card I could use to get it right now, but if it's not as good as the SeaSonic one (which I hear is a good brand) is it worth the extra $30 for the modular option and a slightly better PSU? Thanks for the replies!

I love the price for that Shellshocker PSU, but I just REALLY want a modular (well semi) PSU for the cable management, sick of having to hide and tuck away so many cables that I don't use or not currently using. Thanks for the input guys!
