This entire built was under $400 and it runs BEAUTIFULLY! The only problem is...
With Suspension mode set to S1 or S3, and USB WAKEUP enabled for both sleep modes in the bios, a manual sleep (Start->Sleep) will cause the computer to hibernate in S3 mode or just sleep in S1 mode normally, and if the space bar(or any key) is tapped, or the mouse is clicked , the computer comes to. in S3 mode one push of the power button and it resumes rather smoothly.
However, when I leave my computer for 30 minutes, it goes into sleep/hibernate on its own perfectly fine, but I cannot get the computer to wake up. I have checked the bios power settings and tried doing this in both S3 and S1, but the same problem occurs. I've checked the USB Wake-up Properties in device manager for the mouse and keyboard, and the settings are perfect. I have even gone as far as creating a custom power mode such that the hard disk and monitor enter sleep one minute before the computer enters sleep/hibernate.
I have ruled out the monitor, by means of switching monitors after attempting to wake up. (By the way only in Hibernate do the case fans stop spinning, under regular sleep the fans do not stop)
My only hypothesis for this problem would be to relate the issue to the power supply, or the bios. I have a 2yr extended warranty for the MOBO so if that is the case then I will just replace it. But the power supply is a different story, perhaps the case fans continuously spinning may offer a clue as to what is going on? Most of them are connected directly do the power supply using 3 to 4 pin adapters.
I really hate this, and I'm sure this will make the most of you squirm, but every time It won't wake up.. guess what I have to do... Hard reboot. This system runs incredibly fast, but if I have to continue hard rebooting it, it probably won't stay this way.
