Is it better to shut down PC and boot up every day to power save

Is it better to shut down and boot up the computer every day. How much power save will there be. Does it give the PC a longer life when I do that

Sorry, I am no IT geek, just someone that uses a PC for everyday purposes. When you say power down, this means I total shut down and do not go into hibernate mode. How much power is being consumed by the PC should it be left on, as it takes ages to power up.

Yes, power down means off.

One of the articles mentioned about 6 watts for hybernate.

it doesnt matter but shutting down and starting up constantly can put wear on Hard drives if it is your boot drive. i generally shutdown or restart about every 3-5 days other wise i use sleep mode
