Upgrading CPU

Hey just wondering,

I currently have a Intel-Core I3 in my computer and am wondering is it simple to upgrade to an I5 (Would an I5 fit in the I3's Place) or is it easier to buy a new computer,

Yes it will support.you can get upto i7 cpu.

make sure you are using socket 1155 and not 1156 as the first gen of core i processors used 1156 and that was fazed out. 1155 is for the second and third gen of core i processors

do you have a sandy bridge or an ivy bridge?
or
does the core I3 sticker have a golden part in the corner or a golden line through it?

From what I can tell its a Sandy Bridge, (Intel I3-2120) it was what was in it when I bought the computer, this will probably sound daft but what's better for gaming I5 or I7?

i5 = i7 in gaming, for less money.
