PCI-E 2+6 pin question

Hi,

I just got the sleeve I ordered and removed the stock sleeve on the pcie 2+6 cable when i noticed something that looked like a battery connected with two metal wires on the cable, What is this and do i need it? it kind of makes my sleeving hard.
