'there was a problem sending the command to the program'

Hi.
I have the following problem when I double click on a word 2007 doc I get an error message 'there was a problem sending the command to the program'. I Try following this steps http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2449260/es but I could not fix the problem.
I will appreciate any help.

Try reinstalling Office 2007. Select the repair option for the install. I think that may do it for you.

I want to know if there is another way without having to uninstall it.

Are you using a registered legit. version of Office? The repair option does not uninstall (as I recall), it reinstall by over writing existing Office files.
