I've just got a pair of Triton ax 180s for my pc. The problem is that when I plug them in I can constantly hear a humming noise from them and occasionally i high pitched buzzing sound. I looked up on the internet and ahve a feeling it may be to do with some interference in the usb port. I was wondering if anyone knows how to solve this problem or even what's causing it.
Thank you

Have you tried the front panel connection? There's a ton of wires that can interfere in the back sometimes the fronts work better..
January 22, 2013 5:30:28 PM

I'm not certain but i think so
January 22, 2013 5:31:40 PM

I tried both the back and front
January 22, 2013 5:32:43 PM

that seems like a low quality ps, ive heard of issues with low quality ps, making buzzing sounds tru the audio ports and front panels.

that might be ur cause of ur problem, i know its happened to me before.

So the only fix is to buy a new ps?

well i cant say for shur, but try this first.

uninstall ur sound-card drivers. than download driversweeper. to remove the trace of old drivers.

than download latest ones, than comeback and let us know how that went

January 22, 2013 6:56:51 PM

I didn't think drivers would help you never answer the swich qustion is the headset on pc mode?
January 22, 2013 6:57:53 PM

January 22, 2013 6:58:49 PM

ok is it still in the return window? or do you own it?
January 22, 2013 7:00:29 PM

also have you tried on another computer?
January 22, 2013 7:02:25 PM

I don't have another computer to test it on but i experienced similar humming when using it with ps3 and according to their website the humming with ps3 was a grounding issue. I may return it if there is no ssolution.
January 22, 2013 7:05:20 PM

I'd say send it back at this point, you don't seem like swapping power supplies or tracking down grounding issues is in your wheel house. How much $$ was this?
January 22, 2013 7:05:27 PM

do you have any idea if this is the headphones or my pc?
January 22, 2013 7:06:52 PM

January 22, 2013 7:07:02 PM

wont this issue effect any future headphones i buy as well though?
January 22, 2013 7:07:30 PM

Do you have ANY other headset to test with..
January 22, 2013 7:08:58 PM

The one you have is bizarre I've NEVER seen one uses usb+3.5mm at the same time..
January 22, 2013 7:09:31 PM

I have on that's usb only I don't notice the issue with it but it runs on it's own driver i think
January 22, 2013 7:10:19 PM

i dunno dude, doesnt sound right sounds like a soundcard issue or powersupply.

January 22, 2013 7:11:33 PM

Send it back 35 quid should get a REAL nice head without issues.
January 22, 2013 7:12:38 PM

Sorry headSET probably only average head for that price..
January 22, 2013 7:12:43 PM

yes, id return it, and get something more decent. what website u use to buy stuff?

i could suggest something better

January 22, 2013 7:16:21 PM

What can you suggest preferably one that would work on ps3 as well
January 22, 2013 7:22:41 PM

u got a link where u bought them?
January 22, 2013 7:22:59 PM

i bought it from a retail store
January 22, 2013 7:23:24 PM

Damn these "gamer" headsets are pricy, for $300 top end I'd rather get the head. I use logitech usb for voice recog mostly and it works as well as any voice I've tried, but ps3/pc gamer headset is not in my wheelhouse good luck..
January 22, 2013 7:27:38 PM

hmm. can u return them and get a refund?
January 22, 2013 7:44:14 PM

Maybe this has already been suggested but if not.....before troubleshooting any further try the headphones elsewhere and try a different set on the noisy computer.
January 23, 2013 2:08:22 PM

Thanks for the help everyone. I returned the headset today. I plan on buying a steelseries 5hv2
