I'd like to know what the safe operating temperatures are of an Intel Core i5 3570K. What program can help me monitor that. Is it HWMonitor?

HWMonitor works good.

As far as safe temps, you won't do damage until well into the 100's, but I'd generally recommend upgrading cooling if you are above 75-80 for any sustained period of time.

ideally you want to be around 60-70c at the most under load. the stock fan should do the trick but if you are OCing then I would recommend an aftermarket air or maybe even liquid cooling.
