Thermo paste amount

hi i have got a core i7 2600 3.4ghz processor and i am going to use Arctic Cooling MX-4 Thermal Paste just wanted to know how do i use to maximize cooling etc many thanks

When it comes to thermal paste, less is more.
The pea method is the most commonly recommended way of doing it, which is to put down a blob of paste about the size of a pea in the middle of the CPU. Then mount your heatsink, using the pressure of screwing the heatsink down to spread the paste over the CPU. Give the heatsink a little twist when your done to spread the paste a bit more.
