I've goofed around occasionally making some simple macros, but the
ones I've made consisted of skills or spells or actions that had icons
which I could simply click on to incorporate into the macro. Now I'd
like to make one that includes a command (Target Nearest Enemy)
which has no button or icon to click on. How do I make that command
the first line in my macro?

What I am trying to create, is a macro for my warrior so I can push one
hotkey to both select nearest enemy, and then begin attacking it. For those
madhouse party situations where you have 10 mobs and 10 party chars
all milling about within 5yds of you, and it's almost impossible to click on
the mob you've selected to attack, in the mayhem.

I know I can just click on the 'Attack' icon to add that in as the second line,
but how do I type in the first line, to target nearest enemy? Please include
complete text for that first line, as my knowledge of macro-making is rather
sub-basic ;-) TIA...

The best script command list is that I have found is actually on the Cosmos
website. For your macro you would want to use

/script TargetNearestEnemy(1)
/attack

The 1 should prevent you from picking corpse's as most targeting commands
will target them also.
I have never used it but you can give it a try.

/script TargetNearestEnemy(1)
/cast Attack

I used 'tab' then 'T' for yonks before working this one out.

It probably won't work. You need to 'cast' attack.
