Can my cpu run ati HD7850 gpu?

I'm going to upgrade my gpu to ATI sapphire HD7850....
my current rig is:
PSU-Cooler Master eXtreme power 460W
CPU Athlon II X4 620
MOBO- Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3
HDD- 500GB
GPU- ati radeon hd5550 1GB 128bit
OPTICAL DRIVE- SONY DVD RW
CPU NOT OVERCLOCKED

Yes it can. I was running this GPU with Athlon II X3. I just upgraded my CPU to FX 8320 and my FPS (frames per second) more or less doubled. So although it can run it. you wont get the best out of the card

what about HD7770 or HD7750

Get the 7850 1GB. I was playing games like BF3 on ultra and FPS was always above 30 (that's with SweetFX aswell)

earlier you said i wont get the best out of the card..why?

with my Athlon II X3 I was getting 30-40 FPS on multiplayer. with the 8320 (8 core) Im getting 50-60-80 fps. That maybe a CPU bottleneck or just the CPU intensive multiplayer. (I think its a bit of both) you can always upgrade the CPU later like I did.

how to know if there's cpu bottleneck? should i upgrade to phenom ii x4 955 cause ive been considering it for sometime now..

Yeh the 955 is a nice CPU. I would just get the 78501GB for now and see if there is a need to upgrade CPU

A 965BE (or 955BE) is a good cpu match for the 7850. You may want to overclock it a bit too. That way you will get the most out of the gpu. I used to run that combo in one of my rigs and was very happy with it, and you won't need to upgrade your motherboard.
