Which size of powersupply do i need?

currently im using a very low quality max output 600 watt power supply, and i need to get another ( as im having problems with this one) one but i was wondering would a 500-550w of a better quality e.g corsair work for me? (and to save me money of cource)

my computer is using
os :Windows 7 64 bit
Proccessor : Processor AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor, 3400 Mhz
motherboard: asus m477t
graphic card: ati radeon 5770

Yes. 500w from a good name PSU will be more than enough.

Hi - Yes 500-550w(quality brand) is fine, in fact realdardtech suggests
you only need 430w for a sys with a 5770.

Personally, I'd get the 550w if it was within my budget as you
would most of the time be in the "sweet spot" of the PSU's
efficiency range (40-60% of max output)
