Sleeping Dell Monitor

Within the last week, my monitor started to not come out of sleep mode unless I reboot - just out of the blue! I bought my computer new the end of last year (2011). In case it makes a difference, it is a: Dell Inspiron 570 Desktop PC with a 21.5" monitor, AMD Quad-Core, 6GB RAM, 1 TB HD. Please advise me as to how I can correct this issue!! Thanks for your assistance. I don't know what category this would come under, software or hardware.

do you happen to have another computer to test if the monitor is faulty? all you have to do is plug the monitor into the other computer and see if it is the monitor that is hanging

if its not, its probably the graphics card inside your system. either you have to call up dell to fix it, or you would have to get a new video card.

what is the CPU anyways (model number)? it could help
