Is my Nokia 6100 broken? help!

Have you dropped the phone or anything?
Could just be a loose contact within the phone.

Get a hold of a T6 screwdriver and open it up, wipe the loudspeaker contacts
on the speaker and the motherboard with a clean cloth, an alcohol wipe if
you have any. Don't use any cleaning solutions. Dampen it very slightly if
you must.

If this doesn't work, or you don't care much for repairing, get several
quotes to fix the loudspeaker from different repair centres.
And make very sure the only thing you want touched is the loudspeaker, or
you may be hit with extra charges for pieces you haven't heard of.

I had the same problem. Fixed it by using the menu selection "Menu",
"Phone Settings", "Restore Factory Settings", menu 4-2-3 on mine.
