hello,
i currently have an i3 2100 and would like to replace it with an i5 2500(?). i have had no trouble with the heatsink on the i3 and am curious if it would need replacing for use on an i5? i have a feeling the answer will be yes replace it, but would appreciate any advice.

Is it a stock heatsink? If not it should be fine unless the manufacturer says otherwise. But Intel probably makes all their coolers the same from the introduction of LGA 775 to the Sandy Bridge...
