Hey Everyone,

Okay, I am getting this Radeon HD 6850 GPU, and I'll be running 2 23" Monitors (The card two DVI outputs). This graphics card to be exact -

Since I don't do any sort of gaming, my belief is that I should be okay running 2 23" Displays at 1920x1080. But then again i could be wrong too.

( I'll mostly be using to run a few Virtual Machines and Web Development )

My Question is :- if it isn't enough, then should I get another 6850 GPU and run it in crossfire mode ?

Right now, my choice of MoBo is -

but, if I have to crossfire then I'm thinking of getting this MoBo : (so that i can run both cards in x16 mode)

Thank you.

Yeah, you definitely do not need crossfire just to run multiple monitors. If you are not gaming, then you could do just fine even with something substantially less than a 6850. Running 2 monitors does not take much more power than running a single monitor, and if you are not gaming, buying a gaming card is a waste of money.

Thanks for your reply guys. The point is, if i indeed wanted to play a game... I guess I am covered. Mostly, I just don't find the leisure to indulge in it ...

but maybe I'll play a little bit NFS ... just for the sake of it. heh

In that case, a single 6850 is probably a good bet. It'll hold up under some moderate gaming, just don't expect to run demanding games in 3840x1080 across both screens or something like that.
