Why is nvidia better than amd graphic card

i have bought a dell 7520 model recently,which s a 15r new inspiron special edition.it has an amd graphic card.im doing architecture.will it be sufficient?..i would have to use softwares like sketchup,cad etc.but people r lke nvidia s better..just wanted to clarify.
