Hello All,

I am forming a new guild called The Tauren Society. I am looking for
people who are interested in joining a Tauren only "PvP" guild.

You can be of any class, but you must be of the Tauren race on the
Mannoroth server.

We will perform many raids on Alliance territories as well as enter
battlegrounds as a guild.

Our ranking system is unique (http://guild.dreamcities.net/ranks.html)
in that as you grow in rank, you gain more control over our members in
battle! It is hard to work up the ranks, and such is not given to just
anyone and everyone.

We live by codes (http://guild.dreamcities.net/code.html) and we
strive to become stronger.

I realise being of Tauren race only; their are no mages, warlocks,
rogues or Priests. But we still have some of the most powerful PvP
classes available; warrior, shaman, druid, hunter.

If you have a character on the Mannoroth server, come and join us now
(http://guild.dreamcities.net/join.html) through our website or
contacting Hataurs on the Mannoroth server.

If you do not have a character on the Mannoroth server, what are you
waiting for? Create one now and apply to join, even at level 1! Just
work up to Level 40 with a mount to become "Soldier" status and rank,
which we provide you with guild tabards.

We will fund you with your needs as much as possible to make you the
best your class has to offer!
Regards,
Hataurs (Lvl 40 Tauren Hunter)

That's right. But I'm playing WoW, an MMO_RPG_, not
counterstrike. I don't prefer RPGs because of shiny swords.

Its a role playing game and but don't feel obliged to play fisticuffs
with the other faction using the Marquis of Faintailler* rules. Any
fight these people are in will be a jolly good steakout.

* Marquis of Faintailler is a fictional character set in the universe
of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. By all accounts Marquis of
Faintailler's Noble Art of Fisticuffs was practiced by gentlemen
settling a duel. It involves puffing up your chest, standing with one
foot forward and the back of your clenched fist facing the opponent.
The duel usually ends with the practitioner on the floor clutching his
groin and cursing loudly "sod the damn Marquis of Faintailler" after
being kneed by the opponent in the nuts and berries.

You should have gone a Hunter. Having a loyal pet handy helps prevent such
angst building up... or so I have heard.

It does beg the question of how these "warrior codes" fit into your
day-to-day life. Do you regularly seek out worthwhile mortal enemies to
vanquish in an honourable way? Carry your sword into work with you? Which
warriors are you aping anyway, the paedophile Spartans? The raping,
pillaging Vikings? The rampaging Mongols? I think we should be told :)

Sounds painful. Should get it seen to.

Aah, a metaphor. Cunning.

Can't help but think a samurai would find his promotion potential severely
curtailed if he didn't. "No boss, I didn't kill him. But I pitied the hell
out of him. Be the last time he tries to rob you, I can tell you"

I think you mean ideals and as for joining, too right, mate. I'm an Elf for
a start.

You're free to create a new character on the Mannoroth server of
course. Unless your elf character 'is' on Mannoroth already.

Well, thanks for your time and at-least reading. Hopefully now you
know what the guild is about. It doesn't need to be called Tauren
Women's Society. You know what is meant, you may even already follow
some of these codes in your life and know what they mean.

Look, within the game. It's kids that think in this way: "Oh while
leveling I was ganked by so many level 60 alliance/horde so when I
turn level 60 I'm gonna gank on all the lowbies of the alliance/horde
as well and get my revenge".
What revenge? Couldn't you simply take note of the names of those that
ganked you and set your sites on them at their level, give em' hell?
Or tell your guild mates of what happened and have them take care of
him/her.

That's just being an idiot.

I've always played on a PVE server. No problem whatsoever.

Well, different story then altogether )

I've never played on a PvE server. Do many people run around with PvP
flag enabled around say, Stranglethorn Vale? Maybe I should create a
PvE character some day. Would change my talent tree choices
completely.

No one does generally. The only times it happens outside of battlegrounds is
when a player attacks or is attacked by a guard or npc near a big faction
base. Which is why before battleground alliance would regularly attack the
guards at Crossroads and the horde Southshore in an attempt to bait the
other into a fight.

Or the flagged char is acting as bait...

I was running through the Barrens on my Human 'Lock's Felhunter quest
(so, 30th level), when I saw a flagged Orc of 18th level near the
Crossroads killing beasts. I mentioned it on the guild channel, and a
bunch of my mates were telling me I should take him out, just to teach
him a lesson... I declined, since I wanted to finish the quest, and
didn't want to spend 5 minutes flagged in the Barrens. While I was
circling around him, I spotted three 30+ Horde guys hiding behind a
low hill near the flagged Orc, facing him and not moving much.

Might have been something else going on, but it sure looked like a
trap to me.
