Have a AMD FX-8120 processor sitting in a Gigabyte GA 990FMX-UD3 motherboard with 8 gb's of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM(2x4gb each). The stock heatsink fan lately has been spinning faster and slower-with the faster speeds really whiny and noisy. Any suggestions to fix? All latest drivers installed and everything is in a Antec 900 case with plenty of case fans for airflow. Thanks.

In your motherboard's BIOS menu there should be an option for "CPU Smart Fan Control". If it isn't already, adjust it to "Silent". Just be sure that your case has adequate airflow.

If it continues to auto adjust the fan speed wildly, check that the CPU cooler is mounted properly and that the H/W monitor is reading accurate system temperature.
