Warranties and 'used' CPUs

I was looking to pick up a cheap 3570k on Ebay, seller says the item is pulled from a new PC, tested but never used. No box or cooler.

Just wondering, if it were to die, am I pretty much screwed or would Intel do anything about it? Also is that overclock warranty thing Intel sell worth anything at all?

Thanks.

More about warranties used cpus
  1. Intel won't do anything about that unfortunately, and I wouldn't buy a manufacturer warranty for a used CPU.
  2. Yea sod it then. Not worth the risk. Thanks.
