Which CPU should I get?

I'm thinking of getting an i3-3220 or AMD Phenom II X4 970. (I mainly use it for internet and video editting.. and gaming occasionally).
MY budget is a little less than $500, and I probably need the compatible mobo too.
What's the best motherboard for the two I mentioned above?

Is your budget $500 for just the CPU and Mobo or the whole computer?

Video editing? The Phenom II no doubt. 4 real cores vs 2 real cores with 4 threads. If you can get your hand on 8350, by all means, get it.

Phenom II X4 970 is a little better with multi-threaded stuff like video editing.
