Hey there, I'm looking to try to put together a desktop myself to help save money and get the most bang for my buck. I have very little experiance with putting computers together or which parts will optimize best with which ones. I have been trying to use PCPartPicker but other then the GPU, CPU, Power supply and Ram I have no idea what I am looking for.

Im looking to play games such as Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, Borderlands 2, The Witcher 2 Etc.

I wouldn't need a monitor keyboard or mouse. I would be using my 23inch 1080p TV as a monitor and its max resolution is 1920x1080.

Thanks for the help and I can give more info if needed (sorry for not having more parts already picked out just im really not sure what I'm looking for).

Tyler

Nah, but if you're not going to OC (which in your case I would recommend) use a H77 board and a non-K edition i5. If your budget limit is 1000, you should get a more powerful GPU, like the 7950 or, if you can squeeze it in, a 670. Also, get 1600 MHz of RAM and an SSD for the OS.

CPU Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core $184.99
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing $27.99
Motherboard Asus P8B75-V ATX LGA1155 $95.98
Memory Crucial Ballistix sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 $34.99
Storage Crucial M4 64GB 2.5" SSD $68.95
Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB $379.99
Case NZXT Tempest 210 ATX Mid Tower $54.99
Power Supply Corsair 600W ATX12V $49.99
Optical Drive Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer $17.98
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) $91.18

Total 1007.03

This will give me a much larger GPU and (i think) a better Mobo aswell as a 64GB SSD. I do have a computer with a second harddrive currently in it a 500g i beleive 5400rpm

Should i get a smaller SSD and a faster second harddrive?
Do I really need to upgrade the RAM how much of a performance Increase will I see?
Will a GTX 670 Run to hot for this set up? Do I need additional cooling?

All help is appreciated

Edit: I wouldnt want to spend anymore money then this. Preferably I would like to get it down to the 950-1000 range.

Thanks idroid for the advice, just curious about one thing. If I was to use your $803.99 build and upgraded the Graphics card to a GTX670 would it still work fine? Is it worth doing or am I just spending extra money to have a Nvidia Card?
