Hello Sir,

I am planning to upgrade my PC, in order to be able to play high end games like "Batman Arkham City, Skyrim: elder scrolls: V etc... I have decided to buy the following configuration:

Processor: Intel 3.1 GHz LGA 1155 Core i5 3450

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) PC RAM (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10)

Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD6750 1GB GDDR5

PSU: Seasonic S12II 620 Watts

Please advise, whether the above configuration would be compatible and a good choice to buy..?

Your Old plan was worth $510 (On Newegg). Ive made a much better one for Gaming.

1. CPU:
Buy a Intel Core i5 3330 - http://goo.gl/PcExF - Its $189.99
Note: 0.1Ghz Wont make a difference.

2. MOBO:
Buy a MSI H77MA-G43 - http://goo.gl/Psq5C - Its $84.99
Note: Almost the same as the Gigabyte one you chose (and it looks better :p).

3. RAM:
Buy Corsair Vengence 4GB - http://goo.gl/RbqNE - Its $25.99
Note: You dont Need 8GB for gaming. For today's Games 4GB is enough. Plus you can always upgrade later.

4. PSU:
Buy a Corsair CX430 - http://goo.gl/DHCLL - Its $44.99
Note- You dont need 620W for your system. Its overkill.

5.Graphics Card:
Buy Sapphire Radeon 7850 Dual-X OC - http://goo.gl/yg48i - Its $179.99
Note: This card is much better...

All the Stuff above adds up to $525 and there is $25 in Mail-in Rebate. The prices are from Newegg.com so you may find it for lower at your local computer store or other websites.

You get all this for $500!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Stuff you may worry about.

1. The Graphics Cards Recommended Power Supply wattage is 400W. So 430W isnt going to be a problem.
2. The Radeon 7850 is much better for many reasons:
a) Better Performance
b) Lower Noise because of the 2 Fans
c) Futureproof
d) Better Price to Performance Ration. eg. ($1=x fps)
3. Cant do crossfirebecause the motherboard does not support it (even your old one didnt) and 430W isnt
enough for Radeon 7850 Crossfire.

Hope This Helped!!!

Thank you for your valuable reply. Unfortunately, I have already bought "ATI Radeon HD6750 1GB GDDR5" and its been one month now so I cannot return it....But, I will definitely buy the products suggested by you......

Additionally, I apologize but I didn't understand the term "overkill" which you used for PSU of 620 Watts.. Do you mean I would ruin the PC...?

Furthermore, you've been of great help..thanks again!

ohhh, ok but can may be able to sell it to a friend as its unused. its also cheap so there are people who may buy it. Since its only $80 Even if you sell it at $60 the 7850 WILL be worth it. And why did you buy the graphics card 1 moth before the other components.

With that 6750 you can just 'run' the latest games, forget about cranking up the dials even a little bit to get repectable fps. I mean i have a gtx 660 ti and Hitman Absolution Maxed out with 4x MSAA i get only 30-40fps.

Try to sell your card... cause the 7850 is worth it...

I realize that I shouldn't have bought the graphic card in hurry and must have waited to buy all the components together..my bad... I'll try to re-sell it but I see little hope...maybe later this year or 2014 i will change the card...

Additionally, I apologize but I didn't understand the term "overkill" which you used for PSU of 620 Watts.. Do you mean I would ruin the PC...?

Overkill means that you're overpowering it. So a 620w psu will not run at a high capacity, meaning you are wasting money, however. i'd go with that psu because if it's using less power, it will last longer.

you have 200W extra which are unneeded to run your system smoothly. There is nothing wrong with that power supply its just that so much wattage is not needed at all. 400W is enough for a 7850 but not for a 7870.

Dictionary meaning of Overkill:
1.An excess of what is necessary or appropriate.
2.Any effort that seems to go farther than would be necessary to achieve its goal.

Try to sell your card but if you cant then wait till 2014 as the new cards that come out from both AMD and Nvidia will just be i bit better by small tweaks and increase in clockspeed. 2014 on the other hand AMD and Nvidia will come out will new architecture which results lower temps, lower power consumption and better performing card.

Ill give you an example: Nvidia 400 series vs 500 series wasnt a big difference except power consumption and heat. but Nvidia 500 to 600 series was i big improvement in performance aswell so the smart thing to do is to upgrade your card every 2 or 3 years or go for a dual graphics solution 1 or 2 years down the road as prices of the same card will be cheaper then. This is what i will do...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you do sell your card, dont wait for the newer 2013 ones to come out. Just buy the current generations. If you cant sell your card then wait for 2014 and buy those cards.
