Monitor not showing anything after waking from sleep

Hello, my BENQ xl240t isnt showing anything after I move my mouse to turn the display back on when it automatically turns off. I have the ASRock Fatal1ty 990fx motherboard. I also can't see the BIOS splash screen when I turn the computer on. Is that just because the monitor doesn't turn on for about 10 seconds? Thanks!
