If you are playing high end games it will a little, but it will also help you in the future. A CPU upgrade is not absolutely neccesary for you, unless the game is really struggling (as in constant lag). Like ChilledGrease said, the most instantly noticeable upgrade would be a Graphics Card upgrade, but you don't seem to need that either
ChilledGrease - the crossfire was purely by mistake i bought the HD7770 as a single card for a first attempt at building a pc (one above)when i wanted to improve the gaming experience i was having and happened to mention this to the wife so she was trying to be nice and ordered me another GPU.
Once the card arrived i was greeted with the HD7750 and not wanting to be ungreatful thanked her for it. I wasnt sure if this would allow being crossfired as their is no crossfire slot on the HD7750 but after pluging in the Card into my 2nd PCI slot the system recognised it and ask if i wanted to crossfire , hey presto im now running crossfired HD7770 & HD7750
have just ordered a AMD bulldozer FX 6100 6 core processor and wondered if this will improve gaming experince
i will be looking to upgrade my GPU to a hd7970 once can afford it
hey dave i totally do not recommend you upgrade your cpu. please cancel your order and save the money as you are pretty much wasting your money on an upgrade that you will absolutely not benefit from. it has already been known that fx-6100 cpu for which you have placed your order is a bad cpu for gaming. its not an improvement over your athlon x4 640. you will barely see any performance improvement in your games.
i suggest you rather sell your both graphics cards and get a radeon 7950. its a great card for the money and you will be easily afford it one you cancel your fx-6100 order and sell both your cards.
absolutely do not buy an fx-6100 no matter what. fx-6300 or fx-8320 is a much better choice.
