Hd6850 showing as hd3330??

i have a sapphire hd6850 installed with 12.1 drivers installed. but all my games show it as 3330, now it doesnt let me update the driver from windows update so i think thats whats causing it but can someone help with this?

Does the bios show that as well and also check the device manager under dispaly adapters. Check that and make sure your indegraded GPU is disabled. Good luck and get back to us.

disable integrated graphics in BIOS and be sure to plug the video out to the 6850

its disabled in bios. the device manager shows 6850 too

It's just a bug.
Try manually uninstalling the driver, and try the latest drivers from AMD.com.

latest drivers??? HA!!!!! those drivers screwed up my computer so bad it wasnt funny. thats why i used 12.1

Well, if that's the case, try something, a bit more newer than 12.1 but a little older than 12.6 or 7(Don't remember too well).

Us a driver sweeper and clean out all the old drivers then install the driver you want. Durning install you will come a choice to do custom or recommended. Choose custom then choose clean install.

I will link you to a couple of driver sweepers if you already don't have any. Use the drivers you know worked fine before the problem. Good luck to you.
