Alright so I just put together a brand-new computer the other day (Intel i5-3450 Ivy Bridge @3.1Ghz, Asrock H77 Pro4-M, 8GB DDR3, and a Gigabyte HD 7870 2GB). I loaded Guild Wars 2 and put the settings up to their highest, and I was only getting 5FPS, WTF??? Even this site says I should be getting 40-50fps with the 7870, and about the same with an i5 processor? What's wrong???

What resoultion are you playing at? also, have you updated all your drivers? motherboard and GPU drivers specifically.

If you set GW2 for maximum performance, do the FPS go up?

And do you have any other games to benchmark on? or perhaps run a GPU stress test to make sure the card is working as intended.

Well, it could be a driver issue, trying looking around for ATI driver issue threads. Also you should get something like speedfan, it will let you know how hot the different pieces of your computer are getting. An overheating video card or processor could easily cause this, like if you screwed up the thermal paste on the CPU.
