Need help finding new monitor

So, a while back I bought a Samsung PX2370, and was really pleased with its color accuracy and contrast levels. But later I ended up replacing it with an ASUS VG278H with 3DVision 2. I really like the 4 extra inches, but honestly I'm a bit disappointed with the 3D. Even the games that have 3D working properly just end up with too much crosstalk for it to be enjoyable and more often than not, I ended up turning off the 3D. So at this point, I really only use the 3D to show off how sweet Crysis 2 looks to people (which, for now, seems to be the only flawless 3D game other than Arkham City, whose visuals I just don't like as much).

Anyways, I've now decided that I can take or leave 3D, at least until the next generation of 3D products comes around, at which point I'll take another look. Problem is, it's difficult to compare monitors in a store without being able to run my own programs on them or calibrate them at all, and that's assuming that I can even find the monitors I want in stores around me. And I've just been unable to find decent reviews on monitor performance so I'm turning to the Tom's forums hoping you can help me out. At this point, I'm looking for 27" monitors, generally in 1920x1080 or 1920x1200, for less than $700 (which tends to rule out 2560x1440/1600 resolutions) with an emphasis on picture quality. I'm also not overly concerned about glossy vs. matte displays, since I've arrange the computer room to minimize glare. The 2 monitors I've been looking at are both Samsung's: the S27B750V and the S27A950D, which look extremely similar except the former is 2D and 60Hz and the latter uses TriDef and is 120Hz.

As far as I was able to tell, despite the Samsung monitor being 120Hz, Samsung support said that it would NOT work with the 3D Vision 2 kit that came with my ASUS monitor. That's not a dealbreaker at all, but it would be nice if I still had the OPTION, should I discover that another monitor worked better with 3D than the ASUS...
