You won't notice a difference between a 1045t and a 1055t.

I don't know that the stock clock speed will be "bad" with a powerful graphics card. Mine was just already overclocked when I went SLI.

IIRC, it did fine with the single GTX 560 at stock clock, but that's less GPU than the single card you are looking at.

If you want a decent AMD chip for gaming, check out the 965 or one of the other quad-cores with clocks higher than the 1045t.

well they are at 2.7 and 2.8 GHzz but they are 6 cores, and the 55T can be OCed to 4.0 i know that.

Some 1055t's can be clocked to 4Ghz. (and it takes a lot of power) But you don't know if the one you buy will be able to until after you buy it.

Games don't use six cores. Few use more than two. Unless you intend to use the extra cores (with something like video editing), a faster quad core will game better than a slower six core.

i wouldn't say get the i5 unless you are doing some video recording and editing, if not you should pick up a phenom ii x4 965. save your self some decent cash and can put it somewhere else like to a ssd. http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=46281&vpn=HDZ965FBGMBOX&manufacture=AMD&promoid=1219. here is one for 90 bucks. If money is not a issue though get the i5, it is well worth it.

Better off with the 3570k as it is more powerful a 3570k at 4.5ghz is better than a 2500k at 4.7ghz.
