Poor performance, or just missconfig?

Hello there!

I've been having issues with my new processor, which I got yesterday.

It's a QX6700

Well, to start off, I could only OC it to 2.96 GHZ (Stock voltage/11X multiplier/ 266 FSB - Stock), with multiplier OC, if I get anywhere past that, it would blue screen.

Then I tried to FSB OC (stock voltage/10 multiplier/ 306FSB) Blue screens when on Load.

Gaming performance, I saw an improvement while not recording. When I hit the record button, I get MASSIVE FPS dips, making it unplayable. I thought a windows re-install will fix it? (not sure, haven't done it yet).

Please help me out? :/

Yeah, to really record anything you are gonna want a bit more power, what gpu do you have?

Thought recording games was CPU intensive, not GPU intensive... But when I had my E2180 @3.08GHZ I could fraps the game without that much of a dip, example (30-36FPS to 25-28 FPS) on the C2Q I get from +60 on low to 40-30 with a lot of dips, making it bad. Like the game suffers from hickups.
