can I put a evga gtx 560 ti into a system with a Intel Core 2 Quad cpu Q8400 2.66GHz(I don't know anything about cpus.) WIll this be bottlenecking? Thanks!

As Gman said, it should be fine if you clock it up a bit :). I would not even do that at first, just put the new GTX 560 Ti, run some games and check the GPU usage. If it's below 90% and Vsync is disabled, it means CPU cannot keep up, then you'd need to overclock it.

Graphics processors will often run at 100% despite there being a bottleneck. There are subtle ways to see what is bottlenecking performance in a game, but you'd have to know exactly what to look for. From experience with what hardware I've used, reviewed, and read about in the past, I would say those 2 pieces of hardware are about even. Still, that cpu can overclock quite a lot, and you would do well to take advantage of that.

It all depends on the game you are playing as some will utilize all 4 cores others only 2. I have a old rig running a core2 Quad q6600 oc'd to 3.2 ghz with the 560 ti 448 edition and on games like BF3 i have no bottleneck on games like SC2 i do.
