Hey, i am building a pc soon and i wanted to know wich CPU is better for playing Planetside 2.
The i3 3220 or the AMD FX 6100 or AMD Phenom Phenom II X6 1045T or AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition. I don't have that much money otherwise i would have gone with an i5 so i have to get one of those from that price range.
Also i'm getting a HD 6750 with that and 8 gigs of ram.

Thanks.

You should get an AMD FX 6300, and you'll be good. Bulldozer was awful. Vishera 6300 is better than all the i3's in gaming. If you can't get that get an Phenom II X4 965, and than you can upgrade later if you want.

This. Do not go for the 6100, either 6300 or 965. Both which are pretty good.

Make sure you get a pretty good GPU too, just because a game is CPU intensive doesn't mean it isn't GPU intensive!

Yeah imma go with that. Also i decided to get a GTX 660 Not Ti with it, is that bottleneck? And how will that do in Big battles?

IMO that would make it worse, because it's equally reliant on the GPU.

And in the future, unless you plan on playing PS2 for the rest of your life, it will be worse for gaming.

Weaker CPU + Stronger GPU = Better FPS
Stronger CPU + Weaker GPU = Worse FPS

This may or may not be helpful, but here's my build (and I'm a PS2 junkie). Rig was built in November, 2011 for about $600.

RAM: 8gb G. Skill
CPU: I5 2500 3.3
Vid Card: Radeon 6950
MOBO
SSD
Case: Antec 300
Power: OCZ 650 watt

Ran PS2 at medium. Never lag. After about 350 hours of playtime, there were perhaps 6 or 7 times where the graphics got a bit choppy (these episodes lasted for perhaps 30-60 seconds). FPS never dropped below 45. Typically was in the 70-90 range. Could run it in high mode in warpgate, but during combat FPS dropped unacceptably low.

I recently changed out my vid card for a 7870 2gb (here: 7870 ) and can now run the game on high in all situations. During huge combats FPS drops down to about 40.
