PSU & Case advice

I'm new to building PCs and I'm looking for advice on whether this would be good enough to play games at 1080p at max settings with the possibility of moving up to 1600p

Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H, Intel Z77 Chipset
Intel Core i5 3570K, Ivy Bridge, 3.4GHz, Quad Core, 6MB Cache
Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Performance CPU Cooler
8Gb (2x4Gb) Corsair Vengeance LP, DDR3, 1600Mhz
3GB XFX Radeon HD 7970, 925MHz GPU, 2048 Cores, 5500MHz GDDR5
1TB Seagate Barracuda, SATA 6Gb/s, 7200rpm, 64Mb Cache
Pioneer DVR-S19LBK DVD RW
Windows 8

Not sure about which case or PSU I'd need, and whether i'd definitely need the extra CPU cooler or that, so advice on that would be great.
On a side note: is it possible to play in full 1080p 3D through a Sony TV (active shutter) with this?

Any more details just ask. As I said, I'm new to this so there's every possibility I've got something wrong somewhere.

Cheers.

A 550W PSU like the XFX PRO550W will run that GPU just fine along with your system. IF you can, I'd nosy up for the 7970 GHz Edition by Sapphire. It will run 2560x1600 just fine too.

For case, it is all personal preference. Look for a case that has good airflow, cable management, and the looks you want.

As much as I'd love to, I really can't afford it lol. Is there any specific brands of case you'd recommend over others? And will that PSU come with the 6 pin and 8 pin plugs I need for the GPU?

Cheers for the reply.
