JPEG picture format is already compressed. There are other not-so-popular formats giving probably better compression ratios (JPEG2000 comes in mind), but JPEG is the "universal" standard.

Download a copy of Google' Picasa. From there, you can export your photos wth different setings (reduced size, reduced image quality). Experiment with them until you find the point of "small size" but "good quality".

Hmm thankx for your reply bro. but i find a new way. Via photoshop. i compressed my 3 mb pic to 19.5kb. i was basically asking because i want to upload my pic to forum. and photoshop works for me. :)

.NET imaging sdk provide standard options to compress and decompress documents and images im your application with good quality. a lot of function can be found in this program
