Vertical lines on monitor

Whenever i play hi requirement games on my pc i get these vertical multicolored lines across my screen and i have to restart my computer. I got a new fan for my computer since it tends to get really hot when this happens. Any one know how to fix this or what is happening?

Could be a driver problem. Try using DriverSweeper and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website. By the way, what is your GPU?
