On a serious note, do you have the rest of the components? Are you buying it all from scratch? What is the purpose of your build? What is your budget?
  3. Fx4100 is not good cpu for gaming.

  6. Ditch the Sound Card, unless you're a DJ?
Change the Barracuda to a 1TB F3 for 10 dollars more
Get a Bigger SSD, you will just about be able to fit windows on 32gb after updates.

    What's left on your budget?
  7. My budget is about $800 including monitor mouse keyboard. I will be mainly be using it for gaming. And buying everything new
  8. 800 total budget? Well that doesnt leave alot of room however lets see what you can do for bang for buck

    intel i3+b75m

    $188

However those motherboards arent for overclocking the cpu. you have to spend a extra 30-40 dollars on the mobo to get a decent overclocking motherboard

There's no way youre gonna fit in a CPU and motherboard for $100

You're gonna have to cut out the SSD, Sound card and quite possibly halve the RAM

Yea i did my best however a i3 and cheap mobo is still $180 soo yea. Get rid of the ssd atleast

  12. Sorry, forgot to remove the sound card, and TH doesn't let me edit posts..

Its a motherboard that can overclock and the 6300

So its 6300+970 asrock That would be the best option

its $250 however a 4300 is still fine dropping the price by $12

    to $238

You can still overclock on the stock heatsink too. just dont go crazy :bounce:

Sure, plus you have some extra money to buy the cooler stantheman12 mentioned.

You will be able to overclock it pretty well too!
  16. Ahh its nice having someone else who owns amd in a thread. Since you know that amd isnt crap like everyone says.

    Haha

Amd cpus are acctually pretty decent for the price and when overclocked are really nice imo
  17. Would the amd fx-6300 come with a stock cooler or do I need to buy one separate?
  18. will come with stock cooler. Do not OC too much with that though.

Yes it will come with a stock cooler, but I would advise to do little to no overclocking with the stock cooler.

Get a 3rd party cooler if you plan on overclocking
  20. My suggestions:

+ Lose the SSD, you can always add one later and a 32GB SSD is a waste of money.
+ Silverstone Striders are okay with a PSU you want greater efficiency hence why nothing but SeaSonic Platinum range PSU's touch my build, a 530w GSeries is perfect for you.
+ Avoid corsair RAM, its terrible and good at it. G.Skill or Crucial right now.
+ If you want good onboard sound I would invest in the very expensive but worth it ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z, it has a onboard Creative X-Fi III which is just earth shattering or buy the Thunderbolt which comes with a ASUS ROG Xonar NIC/Audio card.

    Being relistic on costs:

    FX6300
    MSI 990FX GD65
    Crucial Ballistix DDR3 12800 (8GB kit)
    XFX Core Edition Pro 550w
    MSI Power Edition HD7850OC
1TB Western Digital or Hitachi Deskstar
    120GB OCZ Vertex 4

    Rest is as you were.

    Estimate around $800
