I'm gonna have DSL in a week and I haven't gotten an ethernet card (10Mbs Base) yet. Can somebody please recommend me a good one? Or maybe some of the good brands...Thanks a lot!!!

Are Linksys & Netgear cards any good?

I try to smile everyday but I can't...
Edited by novice on 09/26/01 07:54 PM.

Get the 3Com C905C-TXM. I think it costs like 30 bucks and delivers really good performance. I've never had a problem with mine.

30 bucks for ethernet!! No way man, get an Allied Telesyn 10/100MB TX ethernet card. It's like 12$, I have one, never ever had a problem. Unparrelleled performance imo.

DLink cards are cheap and good too. You don't need a really high-end card for a simple application like high-speed internet access.

I agree. My friend have D-link ethernet card on all 4 of his computer. They work great.

Yeah, u certainly don't need anything exepnsive. I saw a NIC card for 2 grand that encoded the data, and only the same type of nic on teh same settings could understand it!!

That would be very, very secure, though. That's the only reason.

I agree, get a $10-20 card, although $30 isn't expensive by any means. I'll end up getting a high-end card eventually, but I'm more than happy with my Netgear FA310tx ($20).

I used D-Link cards for a couple years with flawless performance. I've since moved to Netgear FA312 for faster LAN performance, but you don't need that for internet access. D-Link cards come in ISA and PCI configurations and only cost around $10-$15.
