Logitech Z906 or Sound card cuprit?

Hello,
I am not satisfied with the sound quality of my new Logitech Z906.
However, I am hoping the problem is with the sound card (which is the onboard "Realtek HD").

Will a good sound card help? Like the Asus Zonar Essence STX ?

Even if the speaker is at fault, will a good sound card give me a noticeable boost?

What exactly do you mean by sound quality? Do the speakers sound bad? Do you hear static/popping? Are the speakers too quiet? Also, what mobo do you have?

The sound is not exactly clear. Not something great. I got the same output from my last Altec Lansing 2.1 !!

Are you using Digital or Analog to connect the PC to the speakers? You'll get better quality using analog, even if it does make cabling a mess.
