Hello,

What one is better I'm on a budget of about £1,250
but can manage to milk it to £1,300

I'll just be gaming like skyrim, arma3 (when released), Empire Total War, COH, Men of war and multitasking ie iTunes,chrome,steam.
I won't be video editing.

The I5 is better for your budget and for gaming so there you go...

The only benefit in the I7 is hyperthreading which is only used in heavy duty functions like, oh say, video editing...... and probably wont be needed in gaming until generations after the ivy bridges...
