Will this power supply work?

Hey everyone.

I'm trying to figure out whether or not an OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular PSU will provide enough power to power everything in my desktop build.

I know this is probably a really hard question to answer, but if possible, how much power do you think my system will use at full load? Will an OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular PSU be powerful enough to power everything in my system when everything's at full load do you think?

Here's a list of parts:
- AMD FX-4170 Quad-Core @ 4.2GHz
- Cooler Master V6GT CPU Heatsink Cooler
- MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ 970 Motherboard
- Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 X2 1GB GDDR3
- 8GB (2x4GB) G.SKILL Ripjaws X DDR3-1600MHz RAM
- Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA 3.5in Internal HDD
- Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid-Tower with six 120mm fans
- Keyboard, Mouse, Headphones, 4 External HDDs

Your PSU will work, whats not going to work is your system. that particular model of OCZ PSU is far from being good... it more in the cheap side than anything.

I am not sure why you're still using a 4 generations old GPU so you might want to get something from this century like a 7750 at least.

this psu: http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/rosewill-power-supply... can power any single card set up-

What do you mean by that? Please explain in more detail.

And yes, I'm well aware that the HD 3870 X2 is 4 generations old. There are actually two graphics cards that I could get for next to nothing; one of them being the 3870 X2. I'm still not sure about the other graphics card, so that's why I'm currently going with the HD 3870 X2.

The PSU you linked me to is going to be almost $30 more than the one I listed, and it's 150W weaker (unless the OCZ PSU doesn't output as much power as this Rosewill PSU)

Go for a XFX Core Edition with at least 500watts, I would also get a decent GPU, as awhile yours is ok, it is very old!

I have that OCZ PSU and it works great. It overbuilt and rated at 700w @ a 50c room temp. Its a dual rail 25 amps per rail on the 12v. I have bridged the two rails so I can power SLI properly..
I would like a reference that shows where the info is coming from that these are crap. I have pictures with all the IC's inside the PSU labeled and identified so make sure your source has good information.
