Upgrading my PC in a couple of weeks. I'm going back and forth between getting 1 Radeon HD7950 or 2x Radeon HD6870. Which do you think would perform better. and can I even CFX with a PSU that's only 550w. I'm not planning to upgrade the PSU yet.

CM HAF X
AMD Phenom II X4 965
OCZ Fatal1ty 550w PSU
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB)
CM V6GT Cooler

To be honest you can handle almost any card with 500+ watts. To all power freaks I'm not saying it is The best option but it still would work. Some guy ran 560ti's OCed 2 HDD's and like tons of RAM with a 600w. It was also OCZ. But to answer your question I think I 6870x2 is better as most people compare the 6870x2 to a 7970. But you will probably get similar performance with either.

I havent, I just troubleshooted someones 7850 today pretty quickly. usually if there is something wrong with the stable driver, using another version/beta driver fixes it most of the time.

Thx everyone for their input. I actually ended up getting a VisionTek 7970 got a deal on one for $389 at MicroCenter. It's running great. Playing ffxiv on my 5770 was really laggy. But with the 7970 I have the graphics turned up and everything is going great.
