Hey there! (first off I live in the UK so please keeo that in mind) PLEASE HELP ME!
I am starting university on monday, studying games design, and whilst it will be the primary reason for buying a computer (to use programs such as 3DS Max, Unreal Engine, CryENGINE, AutoDesk Maya etc) I will also use it for gaming on stuff like Arma II, Borderlands, Guild Wars.. on top of that will be the obvious general use like watching movies, internet surfing and all that
Now I have been suffering with a laptop that freezes when opening the internet for years so I want something that will drive through any multi-tasking hard work with ease.
Now I have been considering either buying one built for me online (www.pcspecialist.co.uk) or buy the parts myself and build (which doesnt seem much cheaper) but what is most recommended I will do bear in mind I will be doing it from youtube tutorials/help online since its my first time... now for the questionaire (sorry for waffle!)
Approximate Purchase Date: Tonight
Budget Range: Absolute MAXIMUM - £1200/$1900
System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3D design programs, high end gaming, internet surfing etc
Are you buying a monitor: No, using 32" TV unless you advise against this?
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: scan.co.uk , amazon.co.uk , anywhere UK available
Location: Manchester, UK
Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, Nvidia GPU
Overclocking: I want it as an option even if I dont end up doing it
SLI or Crossfire: Probably not anytime soon but if its better to plan ahead yes
Your Monitor Resolution: Whatever would be needed for a TV?
Additional Comments: Thank you if you take the time to help, I preferably want SSD for OS and key programs as well as minimum 8GB ram (also GTX 660ti or around that spec gfx card)
here is a build I did online with and without online building
Thank you again it really helps! Do both of these builds work and are compatible?
