a nividia 560 with that z68 mobo even thou you can run nivida 600 series or amd 7000 series it wont perform to the the max because ur cpu dosent support the larger bus and graphics core inside of one of those cards so if i was u i would go for a nivida 560 for mid gaming

are the radeons any good? i have heard numerous things about them not being good compared to nvidia but they are a decent price, and i was primarily looking to get the 560 in the first place but i wanted to ask you guys first so what do you think?

The Radeon HD's are very good :) It's just a matter of personal preference on which route you want to take (GTX vs Radeon).

My brother uses the 6870 and it works great, I personally use the GTX 560 Ti and it works great as well...just a matter of personal preference

then whats the point in having quad core cpu's for pcie 3.0 if they perform the same as a dual core ? and no not because they want our money

Quad vs Dual core isn't really a good argument for PCI-E 3.0.

The only real advantage I can see in having PCI-E 3.0 is if you're going to have a massive Multi-GPU configuration, such as 4 way SLI or Crossfire. Then you could take advantage of the extra bandwidth. However, if you're just going to run a single card, you won't see a difference.
