Im am new too all this pc stuff and i am trying to go from console to pc gaming.
I picked out some parts do make the pc but i dont know if it will work. If it does not
work how would i change it. I would like to keep it under $1500

The parts

Asus - P9X79 PRO

Intel - Core™ i7-2700K Quad-Core 3.5GHz Processor

Asus - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570

Corsair - XMS3 16GB DDR3 SDRAM

Intel - RTS2011LC Cooling Fan/Water Block

Western Digital - Caviar Black 1TB

Corsair - Enthusiast Series 750-Watt ATX/EPS CPU Power Supply

Asus - BW-12B1ST Internal Blu-ray Writer

Corsair - Carbide Series 300R Compact Mid-Tower Gaming Case

Solution
Nope, the CPU and motherboard won't work together, wrong socket. You're going to need to pick a LGA 2011 CPU if you want to keep the motherboard, or pick a LGA 1155 motherboard if you want to keep the CPU.

I'd say keep the CPU, keeping the motherboard would probably throw you way out of budget, since you'd have to buy a socket 2011 CPU, and those appear to be pretty pricey...pick a nice socket 1155 motherboard and you should be good to go :)
