X2 6850 1GB or x1 6950 2GB

The question is in the title should I go for 6850's in crossfire or a single 6950.

if running high res is important to you get the hd 6950 with a higher frame buffer
if you want better overall performance get the hd 6850s

If youve got 210 pounds to spend just get a HD 7870.Its easily the best choice.

Depending on the amount of gaming you do and the graphics settings you desire to run, you may not be too pleased with the 1GB cards.

I ran (2) 1GB 6950s in CrossfireX for the better part of a year and I was a little dissapointed. I vowed to never make the mistake of purchasing a 1 GB card again. As a reminder (2) 1GB cards do not equal (1) 2GB card; the video card memory is not additive.

Why not go for a 2GB 6950 and save for a second that you might be able to add in a month or two (assuming there are some financial constraints currently).
